Meet the Artist:
Alessandro Lando
Alessandro was born in Piove di Sacco, Padua, Italy, with a deep love for Trentino, where he spent a significant part of his life, he delved into the world of art from a young age, attending specialized courses and creating works using various techniques. Following his artistic high school diploma and a degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Padua, he privately continued creating art with materials like clay, watercolor, plaster, and oil, exploring alternative materials and incorporating natural elements. His artistic pursuits extended to music education, including piano and gospel singing courses at the G.F. Malipiero Musical Institute in Padua, as well as voice craft workshops.
Currently, he collaborates with several musical groups and he is a tenor in the Gospel Choir in Padua and also performs in many classic music bands. Combining a background in environmental studies with his artistic endeavors, he has resumed and intensified his artistic activity, participating in exhibitions in Trento and Bolzano through my membership in FIDA (Italian Federation of Artists). Engaging in ongoing personal research and training, including photography, he enriches his artistic journey through collaboration with fellow artists from all over Italy.

Art Criticism
The paintings are made in mixed media, using both acrylic and oil color.
The artist produces works with a profound and poetic characterization, marked by a personal imprint, in which color creates a strong impact.
In fact, the colors are always bright and brilliant, even of different shades, and range from blue to green or yellow, almost Fauves, often enhanced by internal contrasts to the background, always exploiting all the possibilities of mixed media.
Lando almost seems to challenge nature, with artifice and intelligence trying to fix the visual effects suggested by the motions of the waves, in Visions he indulges in an even colder or "mineral," and in others, he does not exclude from his investigation the most precise lines and drawing, as in Forever and Ever or Bosqueio.
Most of the paintings are on rectangular canvas devoid of frames and borders to become a space where the eye can imagine a new depiction of the object itself. Birch’s trees become moving bodies that can be modulated to create unpredictable and surprising effects, while landscapes, stripped of the superfluous, are depicted with minimal imagery.
The paintings with subject matter naturalistic, reinterpreted through an abstract vision, create a new image from the departure subject and provoke, in the one who observes, an engaging visual impact emotionally and sensorial.
The artist is exuberant, capable of impressing on the viewer a series of new interpretations. From the works, precisely the temperament of a man who is free and willing to broaden horizons and to make us change the gaze perspective (F.F)
